A heat pump survey is where the quote gets its numbers. We go room by room, measuring windows, walls and floor areas and noting insulation, so we can work out how much heat each room loses on a cold day. That tells us the size of heat pump your home needs and whether each radiator or underfloor zone can keep up at a lower flow temperature. We also look at where the outdoor unit could sit, check noise and distance to neighbours and boundaries, and find space for a hot-water cylinder. If anything might need planning permission or an upgrade before installation, we flag it at this stage. Afterwards you get a written quote showing the unit size, cylinder, any radiator changes and the work involved, with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant shown where you qualify.

What do I receive after the survey?
A written quote showing the heat pump size, cylinder, radiator changes and what the installation involves, with the grant shown where it applies.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to every room, the boiler and cylinder area and the outside of the house, so plan to be in for the visit.
Will the survey tell me if a heat pump is not right?
Yes. If the heat loss is too high or the house needs insulation first, we tell you plainly rather than quote for a system that will struggle.
Do heat pumps need planning permission?
Many installations count as permitted development, but there are limits on unit position and noise, and extra rules for listed buildings and conservation areas. We check this during the survey.
