Most homeowners replacing a gas, oil, LPG or electric heating system with an eligible air source heat pump can access the grant, subject to property and scheme checks. We help check the property, heating system and correct MCS-certified route before the voucher process is started.
Does the grant route need MCS certification?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is installer-led and must go through the correct MCS-certified route. Where needed, Home Comfort Assured Renewables can use a trusted MCS-certified partner or umbrella scheme route for design, commissioning, certification, paperwork and voucher handling.
How can the savings reach around £10,000?
For many customers, the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant plus zero-rated VAT can mean total savings of around £10,000 compared with paying for the full installation without support. The exact figure depends on the installation cost, scope, property and scheme eligibility.
Is heat pump installation zero-rated for VAT?
Qualifying residential heat pump installations are currently zero-rated under the energy-saving materials VAT rules. That VAT treatment is one of the reasons the total grant-plus-VAT saving can often be around £10,000, subject to quote-stage checks.
